Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday slammed Congress government in Telangana over a recent demolition drive in the Khammam district
Describing the action as an example of “bulldozer raj”, Pinarayi Vijayan accused the Congress government in Telangana of rendering hundreds of families homeless without prior notice. He pointed out that nearly 3,000 people, possessing identification documents, were rendered homeless in the eviction drive carried out in the presence of police.

In a statement On Monday, Vijayan said that after Karnataka, similar measures have now surfaced in Telangana under a Congress administration. Terming the development deeply concerning, he said the Telangana government had “besmirched” the legacy of Acharya Vinoba Bhave, leader of the Bhoodan Movement, by demolishing the houses constructed and owned by beneficiaries of the voluntary land donation campaign.
He noted that the houses in Vinoba Nagar were originally allotted to landless families under the Bhoodan movement led by Vinoba Bhave. He questioned how a Congress government could disregard the objectives of a land reform movement launched in 1951.
Drawing a comparison with LDF government in Kerala and the Congress government in Telangana, Pinarayi Vijayan said Kerala has focused on rehabilitation and reconstruction during disasters, while Telangana was allegedly evicting even those with land titles.
